Bearings will be cleaned and anti rust treated after they are finished product and inspected to be qualified. Then they are put into the inner package to protect them from water, humidity, dust and shock so as to maintain the quality of the bearings and precision. Such they can be convenient for usage and good for sale. This article will let you know the how the bearings are packaged and packed before shipping.
Inner Packaging Types
The bearing inner package can be categorized into 3 types according to the anti rust period:
(1) Short Term Rust-anti Period Package: the time period is 3 to 6 months. It is suitable for mass quantity delivery to the same customer, and the bearings are to be used in a short time. Simple packaging is usually applied for convenient usage under the agreement of sellers and buyers.
(2) Common / medium Term Rust-anti Period Package: the rust-anti period is 1 year, and it is suitable for bearings of general applications.
(3) Long Term Rust-anti Period Package: the rust-anti period is 2 years or above. This is suitable for bearings of special applications and/or precision bearings.
Inner Packaging Materials
The common inner packaging materials for bearings are PE (Polyethylene) tube (or box), brown paper, Kraft paper, plain and wrinkles polyethylene composite paper, paper box, polyethylene or polyethylene plastic film, nylon fastening tape or plastic woven grip tape, waterproof high-strength plastic tape and linen bag. All the above packaging material must be guaranteed to be qualified in anti-corrosion capability.
Inner Packaging Conventional Patterns
1. Miniature Bearings
Every 10 -15 pieces of bearings into a plastic tube, and then every 5 – 10 pieces of tubes into a box (or bag, or roller bag).
2. Small and Medium Size Bearings
(a) Several pieces of bearings rolled and packed by PE film, Kraft paper or PE composite paper.
(b) Several pieces of bearings into a plastic tube (or box).
(c) Single piece of bearing packaged by a PE bag and then into a paper box after the PE bag was folded or sealed.
3. Big Size Bearings
(a) Single piece of bearing packaged by PE film or PE composite paper and then into a paper box.
(b) Single piece of bearing packaged by a PE bag and then into a paper box after the PE bag was folded or sealed.
(c) Single piece of bearing into a special made plastic box.
(d) Single piece of bearing wrapped up by 3 layers of packaging materials. The inner first layer is PE film or composite paper; the second layer is fastening tape, and the third layer is waterproof plastic tape.
4. Large Size Bearings
(a) The same packaging method as the (d) item in NO 3 big size bearings packaging.
(b) In addition to the packaging of above, the fourth (outer) layer of linen tape is applied.
(c) For the easy disassembled bearings, the outer parts and inner parts can be packaged separately after disassembly.
Shipment Packing Materials and Requirements
(a) Double Corrugated Boxes: the gross weight of each box should not exceed 25kgs and, and plastic packing straps are used for the box strapping.
(b) Wooden Box/Crate: the gross weight of each box should not exceed 30kgs and, and steel strips are used for the box strapping.
(c) Calp Box: the gross weight of each box should not exceed 25kgs, and plastic packing straps are used for the box strapping.
The packing boxes/crates should be cushioned with plastic bags or films or blisters before the inner packaged bearings are stacked inside. And if there are big clearances, they should be filled with corrugated blocks, paper scraps or other dried material.
