Chung Hung Steel, one of the major carbon steel flat re-rollers and also the major welded pipe makers in Taiwan, would announce the new prices for the first quarter of 2018 soon.
After China''s Baosteel announced the increase in prices next January, including Wisco and Angang all have announced to raise the prices in yesterday (13th). Market participants believed that Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation has announced to lift prices in early, affecting the Chung Hung Steel’s January price has the opportunity to turn high.
Meanwhile, China’s Baosteel has announced to raise the prices for January, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, thick plate, up by RMB 80-120/ton, the main product of hot rolled coil rose by RMB120/ton, up by about 2.03% compared with previous month.
Because of the Chung Hung Steel and China''s major steel mills all have followed the prices open based on a month. However, the raw materials including iron ore, coal, oil and exchange rate changes which would be more carefully for Chung Hung Steel to respond to the original material changes.
Industry estimated, Chung Hung Steel would raise the prices of hot rolled plate, cold-rolled and galvanized steel by about NT$550-780/ton.
