Butech Bliss, the Salem, Ohio, based engineering and technology provider, will be installing a new hydrochloric push/pull pickling line for Fulton County Processing (FCP), a steel coil processing company based in Delta, Ohio.
The US$20 million project will mean an 82,000 sq ft expansion of FCP''s existing plant to house the new line and provide for additional storage and rail car capacity.
According to Jeff Kunkel, FCP''s general manager, the new line will increase the production capabilities of the plant and allow the company to capture ''a significant amount of business that has been leaving the area''.
The new line, a four-tank Butech Bliss/Nelson engineered pickling line, will feature anti-coil break roll technology, and will handle a maximum coil weight of 74,000 lbs. The maximum product width will be 72in by .060in to 0.375in in thickness. Thickness capabilities will be able to extend up to .500in at a maximum width of 50in. A Parsytec in line inspection system and a shape correction unit for material up to .250in thick, will guarantee superior product quality, claims Butech Bliss.
FCP currently houses and operates three slitting lines and one pickling line. The new push/pull line will increase annual pickling capacity from 120kt to nearly 500kt pushing annual plant product capacity to over 1Mt.
“Expansion has always been our goal,” said Kunkel. “Significant customer input has been put into planning this new capacity, and we are thrilled to see it now come to fruition. This is just one of the many steps we are taking to ensure that FCP can fulfill the needs of our growing customer base today and tomorrow.”
