SteelAsia builds new wire rod mills to drive industry development-The 20th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Spring Industry Exhibition

The Philippines’ SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation (SteelAsia) planned to invest 25 billion pesos to build two wire rod mills with a total annual output of 1 million tons. By then, the Philippines will reduce the wire rod import of US$600 million per year. SteelAsia CEO Benjamin Yao said that the plan was expected to boost the Philippines’ steel industry to recover.
It was understood that SteelAsia''s two new wire rod mills had an annual output of 500,000 tons, of which the Visayas mill will supply wire rods to the central and southern Philippines and the Central Luzon mill will supply wire rods to the remaining areas of Manila and Luzon.
