With the intention of being acquainted with the status quo and the demand of those foundries so as to serve them to the utmost, China Foundry Association has commenced conducting the comprehensive investigation and research since July, 2012. A group in charge of Yangtze river delta ,namely Shanghai ,Zhejiang and Jiangsu , visited 7 foundries in the south of Zhejiang province under the leadership of Mr. Wen Ping ,organized by Mr. Yang Chunfan ,President of Zhengjiang Foundry Association.
The first stop: Wenzhou kaicheng Foundry Co,. Ltd.
Wenzhou kaicheng Foundry Co,. Ltd. Is a private enterprise and one of the executive units of China Foundry Association ,dedicated to high-end steel castings, with an annual production of 20000 tons and the largest single piece up to 50 tons.
Kaicheng boasts the first production line of ester cured sodium silicate sand and 3 pieces of consecutive sand mixers. Besides, sand reclamation rate of up to 92% is ranked on top nationwide. It also meets the needs of sand castings of a variety of shapes .
Among the primary castings are ones for steam turbine ,special valve ,mining machinery and metallurgy machinery and materials such as carbon steel , alloy steel and stainless steel .
The production hit 18000 tons in 2011 with the output value of 200 million RMB.
The second stop: Zhejiang Shidai Casting Co. Ltd
Zhejiang Shidai Casting Co. Ltd Is a private enterprise and one of the executive units of China Foundry Association ,which specializes steel castings. in 2010, it was entitled one of the first top 100 foundry enterprises in china.
Among the main products are valve ,engineering machinery and automobile auxiliary castings ,which sell well domestically and are also exported to Europe, America ,Japan, Korea and other countries as well as Taiwan.
The casting output reached 6800 tons in 2011 with the output value of 300 million RMB. Castings cover Hastelloy, Monel, Hastelloy, Duplex steel, precipitation hardening stainless steel, super austenitic stainless steel etc. and are widely applied in petroleum, chemical industry, power, paper making, automobile and engineering machinery.
The third stop: Wenzhou Ruiming Industrial Co., Ltd
Wenzhou Ruiming Industrial Co., Ltd ,founded in 1995, with its headquarter in Ruian--- capital of the auxiliary parts for the motorcycle and automobile in Zhejiang province---is one of the largest foundry enterprise producing aluminium castings for automobile industry at home and abroad ,which specializes in development ,manufacturing and sales of aluminium products and serves as the first-tier supplier. The main products are aluminum alloy cylinder head, cylinder block, intake manifold, cylinder head cover, aluminum frame, which cater to different levels of the automobile industry .
Despite the great economic recession worldwide in 2012, the profit in the first half of 2012 increased by 30% ,compared to that in the same period in 2011 , which should be attributed to fine quality and high recognition from clients, with this figure in the second half of 2012 to be projected more than 40%.
The fourth stop: Yuhuan Shengda Industry Co. Ltd
Yuhuan Shengda Industry Co. Ltd ,established in 1993, located in the eastern part of auto & motorcycle zone in Yuhaun ,Zhengjiang province, is one of the executive units of China Foundry Association and specializes in metal mold casting and low pressure casting .products cover the following areas: automotive brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, pump parts, brake calipers parts; steering, power steering pump and air-conditioning castings; motorcycle brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, stents, and other castings; EMU, high-speed rail brake master cylinder housing; the steering bracket used in Maglev train.
casting output value hit 120 million RMB in 2011. hindered by the limited area of the workshop, the output in the first half of 2012 remained the same as that in the same period in 2011, whereas the profit declined because of the drastic rise in labor cost.
The fifth stop: Cixi Huili Machinery & Electric Co., Ltd
Cixi Huili Machinery & Electric Co., Ltd, founded in 1988, is a medium private enterprise and one of the executive units of China Foundry Association ,specializing in Gray iron, ductile iron, cast aluminum parts, and energy efficient motor. It is honored to be one of the top export foundry enterprises and one of the top 100 foundry enterprises on a comprehensive level.
The enterprise implements the ISO9001 international management system standard and employs 6 sigma and 6S to conduct on-site control over quality and operation .meanwhile, it has obtained the TS-16949 and IRIS standard system certification with the notion that all we do is to satisfy the clients .
The casting output approached 29 thousand tons and the output value equaled 350 million RMB in 2011.
Due to the euro debt crisis and weak situation in domestic manufacturing industry ,the production in the first half of 2012 declined by 10% or so .the profit rate in the first half of 2012 has also decreased by 20% owing to soaring rise in labor cost.
The sixth stop: Ningbo Wanguan Precision Casting Co., Ltd
Ningbo Wanguan Precision Casting Co., Ltd specializes in steel, alloy steel and stainless steel castings, which cover various fields, such as metallurgy, mine, petroleum ,chemical industry ,railway, automobile and other machinery manufacturing and sell well at home and abroad ,mainly to U.S, Australia, Canada ,Spain, Japan etc, with the output of 10 thousand tons and output value of 150 million RMB. Impacted by the economic crisis in 2012, the production has shrunk by almost 1/3.
The seven stop: Ningbo Riyue Co,. Ltd
Ningbo Riyue Co,. Ltd is a large-scale foundry enterprise and one of the executive units of China Foundry Association. Riyue adopts the internationally advanced techniques such as resin sand technique，external furnace desulphurization, refinement and a combination of the cupola and electric furnace along with advanced physical & chemical examining devices. Its products which focus on large-scale plastic injection machines , diesel machines , wind-driven generators as well as machine tools ,are exported to U.S and Japan and many other countries and was conferred the leading green foundry enterprise. It has a production capacity of 200 thousand tons and the maximum casting is up to 160 tons ,among which the ductile casting with a maximum thickness of up to 1222mm takes the lead above the average level. 2011 reported an output of 95.5 thousand tons with the output value of 964 million RMB.
The overall scenario in 2012
The output in the first half of 2012 was reported to have declined by 20% compared with the same period in 2011 due to the adverse situation . the second half of 2011 plus the first quarter of 2012 saw no orders in castings used in wind-driven generators，mainly because the casting purchasers of wind-driven generators were using their previous inventory until the second half of 2012,when more orders were placed.
Based on the survey of the foundry enterprises in the south of Zhejiang province, the research panel has reached a consensus that the economic conditions are favorable in the first half of 2012 and the weak market is beneficial to the elimination , merger & acquisition and reorganization of small foundry enterprises ,moreover, paves the way for the implementation of entry permission regulation.
