POSCO to sponsor PyeongChang Paralympics ice sled team-The 19th Guangzhou Die-casting, Foundry & Industry Furnace Exhibition

POSCO, an official sponsorship partner for the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, is also helping the nation''s ice sled hockey players who will participate in the Paralympics. POSCO''s sponsorship for the nation''s sled hockey players and their association especially means a lot since the steelmaker is helping players who don''t enjoy the popularity of sports such as football and baseball that get huge support.
A POSCO official said that "Korea''s national sled hockey team secured the third place in the World Championship Tournament in April, and the team also ranked the seventh in the 2014 Sochi Paralympics."
POSCO started the sponsorship "Star player Jung Seung-hwan was nominated twice as the best forward at the IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A-Pool in 2012 and B-Pool in 2015. But the sport itself does not get public attention. To help Korea''s sled players and their association provide a better environment."
POSCO also uses the company''s latest technologies in manganese and magnesium alloy to build and donate top-notch sleds for players. The donated sleds were 34 percent lighter than ordinary sleds but are improved at absorbing shocks compared to previous sled models, according to POSCO.
POSCO Daewoo, the steelmaker''s affiliate, has also officially sponsored the national bobsleigh and skeleton team players since 2011.
