Gray iron

For these reasons, casting companies in different locations employ different casting processes.
Ductile iron
The composition of ductile iron for iron casting varies greatly. The basic composition is iron, and then there are other constituents, such as carbon. In a ductile iron casting, there is more carbon than the metal can absorb. Steel, on the other hand, only contains as much carbon as it can absorb. Compacted graphite iron

Production process
